Senior Software Engineer – AWS / TypeScript / Serverless
Details

Blairi Schermer
Account Manager Development
Are you a senior engineer who doesn't just ship features but lifts entire teams? Do you combine deep AWS and TypeScript expertise with a natural drive to share knowledge and improve how a team works?
Where will you be working?
You'll be joining a large, well-established Dutch organisation that plays a central role in a rapidly evolving industry. With millions of end customers and a strong digital focus, the engineering teams here have real end-to-end ownership of the products they build and maintain.
You'll join a compact, international team responsible for core application services and operational data processing. The team is going through an exciting phase, growing scope, an evolving tech stack, and a push toward more structured ways of working. The culture is relaxed, delivery-driven and English-speaking. No corporate theater, just good people building things that matter.
What are your core tasks?
As Senior Software Engineer you take ownership of the backend services you build and maintain. You design, develop and deploy serverless applications on AWS, write clean and testable TypeScript, and keep production services reliable.
But this role goes beyond code. The team is transitioning from a reactive, operations-focused setup to a more structured and scalable way of working. You'll play a key role in that shift, not by imposing process for the sake of it, but by showing what good looks like. You share knowledge actively, contribute to architectural decisions, and help spread ownership across the team.

- Strong senior-level experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Proven expertise with AWS serverless services (Lambda, DynamoDB, Batch)

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Comfortable working with SQL and relational databases (Postgres)
- A track record of improving team practices - knowledge sharing, code reviews, development workflows
- Seniority in communication: you explain your thinking, ask the right questions and bring people along
Nice to have:
- Experience with CRM system integrations
- Familiarity with React or frontend development
- Experience working in Agile/Kanban teams with DevOps responsibility
