Where will you be working?
WannaFlex is your recruitment partner for this role. We connect experienced IT professionals with innovative, future-focused organizations. In this case, you’ll be joining a fast-scaling international scale-up that specializes in turning commercial data challenges into smart solutions. Their work helps clients make better, faster decisions in a highly competitive and data-driven niche market.
This company has moved well beyond the startup phase, with a growing product portfolio, an international customer base and a tech-first mindset. You’ll work from their Utrecht office, becoming part of a compact but experienced team that collaborates closely with consultants, analysts and product leads. Expect fast feedback loops, real ownership, and the chance to help shape a scalable platform from the inside out.
What are your core tasks?
You’ll make sure data is fully available and usable from start to finish. That means designing, optimizing and monitoring data pipelines. You’ll build scalable solutions with a tech stack that includes Databricks, PySpark, and MongoDB. Together with engineers, analysts and consultants, you’ll ensure data solutions are not only technically sound but also provide real business value for users across the globe.
You’ll switch easily between building, analyzing, and improving. You’ll set up smart monitoring systems, advise on architecture and help ensure that the platform is stable and scalable as new products are added. It’s a broad role, with a lot of responsibility — and your impact will be visible from day one.
What are we looking for?
You have solid experience building scalable data platforms and know how to manage complex systems. You’re curious about new tools, like to think ahead, and enjoy bringing others along with your vision. With your expertise in Databricks and PySpark, you set the direction in projects, and your knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes helps you build scalable and secure cloud solutions.
- At least 6 years of experience in data or software engineering.
- Daily hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark, including optimizing ETL flows.
- Comfortable working in AWS environments using EKS and CI/CD.
- Strong background in data modeling, governance and quality assurance.
- Clear communicator with a proactive mindset.
- Bonus points if you're familiar with NodeJS, Terraform or queueing systems.
What do we offer?
You’ll work on solutions that make a real global impact — in an environment that understands what you need to grow:
- € 5,500 - € 7,000 gross per month, depending on experience.
- A permanent position, directly employed by the client.
- Based in Utrecht, with at least 3 days a week in-office.
- Collaboration with an international, multidisciplinary team.
- Freedom in how you work and what tools you use.
- Opportunity to travel internationally for client work.
- A knowledge-sharing, technically driven team that challenges you to grow.
