Blairi Schermer
Account Manager (Back-End)
Building reliable Linux-based infrastructure, keeping core internet services stable and secure, and solving network challenges together with a skilled team of engineers. That’s your daily work as a Medior System and Network Engineer. You’ll be joining a not-for-profit organisation with a unique role in the heart of the Internet. Curious what makes this role special? Think hybrid flexibility, impact on the digital world, and excellent secondary benefits.
What are your core tasks?
You’ll be part of an international engineering team that designs, deploys and maintains IT services, servers and infrastructure. In practice, that means you will:
- Maintain and deploy Linux-based systems (Redhat, managed with SaltStack) and containerised applications using GitOps principles.
- Keep the virtualisation platform up-to-date and optimised.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and performance issues.
- Build and maintain robust monitoring and centralised logging.
- After about six months, take part in a compensated 24/7 standby rotation (one week every 6–8 weeks).
What are we looking for?
You’re an engineer with solid experience in IT infrastructure who wants to take the next step in a professional, international environment. You enjoy teamwork, knowledge sharing and a role where collaboration matters as much as technical skills. You bring:
- Several years of experience as a system and network engineer.
- A strong background with Linux servers.
- Experience with network automation.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Flexibility, eagerness to learn and adapt, and a team-first attitude.
What do we offer?
A role with real impact and plenty of flexibility. You can count on:
- Annual salary based on the experience
- Extra pay for 24/7 standby shifts.
- 5% end-of-year allowance, plus annual budgets for health, transport and tech.
- Non-contributory pension, paid parental leave and top-tier health insurance.
- 33 vacation days (based on full-time).
- Flexible hybrid working (office and home).
- Option to work abroad for a limited number of days per year.
- A generous training budget for professional growth.
- Healthy office lunches, good coffee and regular team drinks.
You’ll be working directly for a leading not-for-profit organisation that plays an important role in the governance and operation of the Internet. With a diverse, international workforce of over 180 colleagues from 40+ countries, this organisation values openness, collaboration and community. The contract of employment will be with them — WannaFlex supports you in the process and ensures a smooth recruitment journey.
